Mac Os After Mavericks

However, after 10's of unsuccessful attempts, I decided to give the (normal/non beta) SFOTTinstall.dmg v1.4.4 version of the SFOTT script / key generator a try and guess what, the resulting USB stick/HDD did boot nicely and Mac OS X 10.9 / Mavericks installed just fine on my Mac Pro 2,1! Before you upgrade, we recommend that you back up your Mac. If your Mac is running OS X Mavericks 10.9 or later, you can upgrade directly to macOS Big Sur. You’ll need the following: OS X 10.9 or later; 4GB of memory; 35.5GB available storage on macOS Sierra or later. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply. Transfer files from android to pc without usb cable.

  • Open that app from your Applications folder to begin installing the operating system. MacOS Sierra 10.12 can upgrade El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, or Lion; OS X El Capitan 10.11 can upgrade Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard; OS X Yosemite 10.10 can upgrade Mavericks, Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard.
  • Just as an update, I was able to fully install 10.9.5 and all the software I used with it when it was live, and was happy to do so. But after further frustrations with current macOS software and hardware, I have opted to use Windows 10 for the foreseeable future. And to add, while I was using Mavericks, I wasn't using Safari.

Problem

A few Apple mac’s have been booting to a black screen with the mouse curser and nothing else after updating to Mavericks(10.9.2),. Convert vbk files to pdf. Cooltimer.

Cause

Cached

It seems to be a problem with a Security update, which isn’t completing the installation procedure and causing the system to hang.

Solution

A reinstall of OS X won’t work, the same as resetting the PRAM, and SMC.
Mavericks

You will need to force the update to complete and then it’ll boot to OS X fine. Make sure the machine is off, and then follow these steps.

  1. Press the power on button, and then straight away hold down the Left Shift key. (the machine will boot to the black screen and the mouse curser again)
  2. Even though you can’t see anything except the curser, type the first letter of the Username for the computer, then press the Tab key once, and then type in the full password for the machine. Press Enter.
  3. After a moment, the loading wheel(spinning beach ball) will appear and then a Mavericks window with the X logo and a loading bar. Let this process complete, and then the machine will boot to the desktop.
  4. Confirm the Machintosh HD is the startup disk.
    • Click System Preferences.
    • Click Startup Disk (found under the System heading).
    • Click on Macintosh HD.
    • Close System Preferences and then restart the machine.
  5. Once it has rebooted to the users desktop, shut down the machine and then reset the PRAM.
